Carl was a Minister of The Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Lutheran Church. Carl came to the United States in 1895. He was naturalized in 1902. His brother came to the US first, and his brother fought in the Spanish American War. His brothers possible name was Wilhelm. It was told that Wilhelm sponsored Carl in coming to America. He settled in Greenleaf, KS in Washington County first. We were told that he changed the spelling of the name from Gode to Goede (unproven so far). He moved to Nebraska in 1901.

Notes for HENRIETTA MUELLER:

Henrietta moved to America with her brothers, Henry and Adolf to possibly Bennington, NE in 1893. She was a cook in a hotel. She was naturalized in 1902. Her parents came later in 1902.

Her name might have been Wilhelmina after her mother.

Frieda Most Goede Obit

Frieda GOEDE, 97, of Loveland, died June 2, 2005, at North Shore Health Care Facility in Loveland.
She was born July 24, 1907, in Tobias, Neb., to William and Minnie Thomas Most. She married William H. Goede on Dec. 1, 1927, in Ohiowa, Neb. He preceded her in death in 1991.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Loveland. She loved singing, fishing and family get-togethers.
She was a helpmate to her husband during his pastoral ministry from 1927 to 1968.
She is survived by two sons, Bill GOEDE of Daniel, Wyo., and Tim GOEDE and wife Maria of Norfolk, Neb.; two daughters, Marilyn Vacek of Loveland, and Maureen Price and husband Bill of Topeka, Kan.; a sister, Gertrude Trautwein and husband Arnoel of Bracketville, Texas; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3333 Duffield Ave., Loveland.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, CO 80538.

REVEREND HERMAN GOEDE

Reverend Herman Goede was born at Greenleaf, Kansas, on November 23, 1898, the son of Reverend Carl and Henrietta Muller Goede.

After finishing grade school, he enrolled at the Glenvil High School, where he was graduated in the class of 1916. He then entered the Martin Luther Seminary in Lincoln, Nebraska, to study for the ministry. He received his Bachelor of Divinity degree there in 1922, and was ordained as a minister of the United Lutheran Church in America. Reverend Goede also was a student in the graduate school of the University of Nebraska, from which he holds a Master of Arts degree.

On February 27, 1927, Reverend Herman Goede and Miss Irene Hoppold were united in marriage at Doniphan, Nebraska. They have two sons, Gerald H. and Robert W.

In 1922, the Reverend Goede received an assignment as pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Doniphan, Nebraska, where he served for four years, 1922-1926. From there he went to Blue Hill, Nebraska, where he served a pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, from I926-1930, he accepted a call to Columbus, where he served for sixteen years as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church. In 1946, he went to the Frieden's Lutheran Church in Lincoln as pastor.

Besides his work in the Trinity Lutheran Church of the Midwest Synod of Nebraska, Reverend Herman Goede served as secretary of the Northern Conference and secretary of the Library Board. He was very civic minded and participated in civic affairs in Columbus. He served for several years on the Community Chest Board, and in 1944, had charge of the Community Chest Drive. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League, and a supporter of its principles. He was also a member of the Platte County Ministerial Association.

REVEREND WILLIAM HENRY GOEDE

The Reverend William Henry Goede, pastor of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bismark Township, was born at Fremont, Nebraska, on April 8, 1903. He is the son of Reverend Carl and Henrietta Mueller Goede. His father was born in Germany, on April 25, 1874, and died at Columbus, Nebraska, in June, 1942. Mrs. Goede was born in Germany, on November 6, 1867, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, in May, 1942.

The Goede family is prominent in ministerial circles of the Lutheran church. Reverend William H. Goede's three brothers are all pastors. The Reverend Herman Goede was pastor at P the Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus, from 1930 to 1946, and is now the pastor at Frieden's Lutheran Church, in Lincoln. The Reverend Carl Goede is the pastor of the Messiah Lutheran Church, at Grand Island, Nebraska; and the Reverend Henry Goede is pastor at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, in Omaha. His father, Reverend Carl Goede, served as a pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Glenvil, Nebraska, for thirty-two years. His sister, Frieda Goede Konig, is the wife of Reverend Karl Konig, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, at Yutan, Nebraska.

Reverend William H. Goede attended the schools at Glenvil, Nebraska, and is a graduate of the Martin Luther College and Seminary, at Lincoln. After finishing his course in theology, he was ordained a minister of the Lutheran church.

Reverend William H. Goede and Freda Most were married at Ohiowa, Nebraska, on December 1, 1927. Mrs. Goede is the daughter of William and Minnie Thomas Most, of Ohiowa, Nebraska.

Reverend William H. and Freda Most Goede have three children. Marilyn, born at Fontanelle, Nebraska, is a graduate of Kramer High School in Columbus.

Gerald Herman Goede "Jerry"

GOEDE Gerald "Jerry" Herman Goede joined his heavenly Father on March 15, 2009 after a heroic nine year struggle with cancer. Jerry was born June 29, 1929 in Nebraska to the Reverend Dr. Herman and Irene Goede. He grew up in Columbus, Nebraska, and attended high school in Lincoln, Nebraska. Jerry graduated from the University of Nebraska with his degree in mechanical engineering. Following graduation, he served as an aircraft crew chief in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and then held various engineering and management positions with Allison, Westinghouse, Bendix, Western Electric and At&T. Jerry loved to fly private aircraft prior to his ill health. Jerry found real happiness in his marriage to Glenna. The two enjoyed a large combined family. Jerry is survived by his very loving wife, Glenna; his daughters Jeri Lynn Stewart (John), Wendie Kirby (Kent) and Joy Rimmer (Ken) all of Lee's Summit, Missouri; sons Jeffrey Goede (Marcia) of Kansas City, Missouri, Jonathan Goede (Elizabeth) of Holden, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshus, James (Sarah), Jenny Angotti, Joni Carrera (Pablo), Corey Stewart, Jared and Jacob Goede, Jillian Kirby and great granddaughter Parker Angotti. Also survived by one brother, Ron Goede (Lisa) of Logan, Utah. Finally, his loyal dog Brandy. He was a man known for his love of family and friends, sharp intellect, warm gentleness and great humor. Memorial contributions may be made to Lee's Summit United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lee's Summit United Methodist Church, 2nd & Douglas St., Lee's Summit, Mo.
